Reflecting on a Year of Leadership: A Conversation with Callie Miller, President of High Profile Staffing

It’s been a little over a year since Callie Miller stepped into the role of President at High Profile Staffing. As a longtime team member with a deep understanding of the company’s mission, Callie brought both heart and vision to the position. We sat down with her to reflect on the past year—what she’s learned, what’s inspired her, and what she’s most excited about as she continues to help lead the company forward.

Q: What surprised you most in your first year in this role?

Callie: One of my top five strengths is individualization, and I’ve always cared deeply about understanding people and meeting them where they are. This year reminded me just how important that really is, especially in a role like this.

What surprised me most wasn’t the business side. It was how much emotional range leadership requires. You’re carrying the vision, navigating change, and also showing up for people in very real, personal ways.

It’s been fun to hear “Madame President” around the office and in conversations externally. It’s been a light and fun reminder of the support I’ve felt from our team and partners throughout the year.

Q: What accomplishment from this past year are you most proud of?

Callie: I’m proud of how we’ve led with intention, especially in bringing our team back together. After more than 30 years in the same space, we went fully remote during the pandemic. This year, we returned to the office in a hybrid model with two days a week in person.

That decision wasn’t about structure or control. It was about connection. We missed the energy, the collaboration, and the mentorship that happen when you’re in the same space. Remote work served us well, but nothing replaces being together, in person.

I’m also proud of how our team continues to adapt and show up. We’ve simplified where we could, communicated more clearly, and stayed focused on the people we serve.

Q: Was there a specific challenge you faced that helped you grow as a leader?

Callie: Letting go of being the doer. As you grow in leadership, it’s not always easy to step away from the things you’re good at…the projects you’ve built, the tasks you’ve refined, and the roles you’ve held for years.

But stepping into this role required a shift. I’ve had to create more space for others to step in, trust their growth, and focus more on coaching than doing. That shift from executing to empowering has stretched me and it’s been one of the most important parts of my journey.

Q: What has this first year taught you about leadership, personally or professionally?

Callie: Leadership is always evolving. I’ve served in leadership roles for much of my life, but this year brought a new level of weight and clarity. The decisions feel bigger, not just in what gets decided, but in how those decisions affect people.

Personally, I’ve had to become more protective of my energy and more trusting of my instincts, especially while balancing this role with being a wife and a mom to two young boys.

Professionally, I’ve learned that presence matters more than perfection. It’s not about doing it all. It’s about staying grounded in what matters, setting the tone, and helping others grow.

Q: What are some ways you’ve seen the team grow or shine this past year?

Callie: Our team has always shown up with pride and purpose, and this year was no exception. Through change and transition, they’ve stayed committed to why we’re here. We come to work to change lives.

We’ve embraced our hybrid schedule, and I’ve loved seeing how much we’ve enjoyed being back together. There’s something about those little moments like bagel breakfasts, afternoon chocolate breaks, team lunches, happy hours, and even a game of Catch Phrase that brings energy, connection and lots of laughter that you just can’t replicate over Zoom.

What stands out most is how deeply this team cares. About their work and about each other. That’s what makes High Profile so special.

Q: What’s one initiative or decision you made this year that you’re especially excited about?

Callie: I’m proud of our brand refresh. This year, we updated our logo, colors, website, and materials. Not because anything was broken, but to build on the strong foundation already in place.

Before making any changes, I reached out to several trusted partners to get honest feedback on how we were showing up. That input helped guide us toward something that reflects who we are today while still honoring where we came from.

Our look may have changed, but who we are at our core hasn’t. We’re still the same High Profile. Our values, relationships, and commitment to the people we serve are as strong as ever.

Q: How do you define success—for the company, and for yourself as a leader?

Callie: For the company, success means we’re making a lasting difference. We’re not just filling roles. We’re helping people take the next step in their lives and careers. We’re building real relationships, earning trust, and showing up with care, time after time.

For me, success is creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and valued. It’s about making thoughtful decisions and staying true to our values, even when it’s not easy. I also define success by how I’m showing up outside of work. I want to be present wherever I am.

Q: What do you see as the biggest opportunities on the horizon—for the business, the industry, or your team?

Callie: The world of work is shifting fast. AI, changing expectations around flexibility, the pace of decisions…it’s a lot to navigate. But in that, I see real opportunity.

Our biggest opportunity is to stay grounded in who we are while continuing to grow. People want more meaning and connection in their work, and we’re well positioned to offer that. We lead with heart and with insight, and that combination is needed more than ever.

I’m also excited about exploring new tools that help us work smarter. We don’t need to chase trends, but we do need to stay curious and willing to evolve. That’s how we stay sharp.

Q: What keeps you inspired and motivated as a leader?

Callie: The people. Watching someone grow, take on something new, or land in the right role never gets old. Seeing lives change because of the work we do keeps me going.

I’m also driven by learning. Whether it’s leadership, technology, or trends shaping the future of work, I’m always exploring new ideas that help me grow, lead better, and serve more intentionally.

At the core of it all, my faith and my family keep me grounded. They remind me why this work matters and who I’m doing it for. Whether I’m leading a team meeting or sitting at the dinner table with my family, I want to be present, purposeful, and in alignment with my values.

Q: What leadership advice would you give to someone stepping into a big role for the first time?

Callie: People don’t expect you to know everything. And let’s be honest, we never will. I learn something new every day. Growing up, my dad would remind me that “I’ll know I’ve truly arrived when I meet my maker. Until then, stay grounded, stay humble, and keep learning.”

Stay open to growth. Seek to understand. Assume positive intent. Expect the unexpected. The role may be bigger, but the most important things stay the same. Listen well, stay curious, and show up with clarity and care.

One of my favorite quotes from Craig Groeschel says, “People would rather follow a leader who is always real than one who is always right.” I believe that wholeheartedly.

Q: If you could sum up your first year in one word, what would it be, and why?

Callie: Stretch. This year stretched me in all the right ways. Personally, professionally, and emotionally. I had to let go of things I’ve always done, shift how I lead each day, and make more room for others to grow and lead alongside me.

Every challenge, every change, every decision pushed me to become more clear, more grounded, and more aligned with what really matters. That stretch created space for real impact, which is exactly what this role and this season are all about.

This year also marks 19 years at High Profile and my first as president. It’s been a year of growth, gratitude, and a whole lot of learning. And I’m just getting started!

Looking Ahead

Callie’s first year as President has been marked by vision, resilience, and a deep commitment to people. Her leadership continues to inspire those around her and set the tone for a culture built on excellence, integrity, and genuine care.

We’re grateful for all that Callie brings to High Profile—her heart, her wisdom, and her unwavering dedication to our mission. Here’s to many more milestones ahead!
