Girls Inc. is a nonprofit organization with locations throughout the United States that responds to the changing needs of girls through various programs designed to inspire young women to be “strong, smart and bold” in order to reach their full potential. High Profile Staffing is proud to sponsor a school supply drive for this organization and be part of their commitment to empower young women.
School Supply Drive
From August 4 through August 18, High Profile Staffing requests that clients, candidates, staff and tenants of the office building where their headquarters is housed donate school supplies. Those wishing to donate can contact High Profile Staffing and they will even arrange to pick up the supplies from those who are willing to donate. Many clients,
candidates and employees have received information regarding the Girls Inc. school supply drive through an email blast and donations have already started to arrive! High Profile Staffing launched the first school supply drive for Girls Inc. in 2009 and has received numerous photos and handwritten notes from the young women who benefitted from this worthy cause.
About Girls Inc.
The Girls Inc. movement began in New England and has roots as far back as 1864 when it was created in response to the needs of the young women who were among the new working class during the Industrial Revolution. The group gained national status in 1945. The organization develops educational programs that encourage young women to master physical, intellectual and emotional challenges, focusing on math and science education, pregnancy, violence and drug abuse prevention, media and economic literacy, health, and participation in sports. Using innovative methods, Girls Inc. focuses on the changing world of girls in the community and encourages them to live strong and reach their full potential. As a non-profit organization, Girls Inc. relies on donations from corporations, foundations, and individuals, as well as government grants, to survive, as 77% of their funding comes from these sources.
